On 8th May 2018, in the Center for Education of Engineers of the Silesian University of Technology in Rybnik [Centrum Kształcenia Inżynierów Politechniki Śląskiej w Rybniku], the conference “Mining – Perspectives and Threats. Coal, cheap clean energy and workplaces” was held . It was organized by the Association of Graduates of the Silesian University of Technology, Department of Engineering Education Rybnik and the Directorate of Training Center of Enginieres of Silesian University of Technology. The conference takes place in a two-year cycle, from the 2012 and is a forum of exchanging experiences of scientific community, industry and local governments. In this year’s edition, particular emphasis was placed on the presentation of current and future mining development opportunities, with particular emphasis on cooperation with local communities.
